Michael del Vecchio
Project Manager, Animating Democracy
Michael joined the staff of Americans for the Arts in spring 2003 to support Animating Democracy, a program which fosters arts and cultural activity that encourages and enhances civic engagement and dialogue. In this capacity, he has been responsible for the development and content of the Animating Democracy website, the advancement and marketing of Animating Democracy publications and workshops, and the administration of the Animating Democracy/Working Capital Fund Exemplar Program. Michael graduated from The George Washington University in 2000 and holds a degree in French Language & Literature. Michael is an active member of the fiber arts community in Washington, DC, and is a member of the Springwater Fiber Arts Workshop. He is co-founder of menknit.net and served as editor of the menknit.net quarterly ‘zine in its first issues. He is also the author of Knitting with Balls: A Hand-on Guide to Knitting for the Modern Man and his work has been featured in various magazines and publications.
