Kirsten Gercke
Government & Public Affairs Associate
Kirsten joined Americans for the Arts in February 2008 as the government & public affairs associate. She is responsible for providing administrative and programmatic support to the entire Government and Public Affairs Department. In addition to aiding the chief counsel of government & public affairs directly, Kirsten assists with issues regarding federal affairs, state and local government, and the execution of Arts Advocacy Day.
Prior to joining Americans for the Arts, Kirsten worked at the British Embassy in the Political, Economic, and Public Affairs Department. During that time she assisted with the planning and implementation of several congressional delegations and other high profile events, including the state visit of Queen Elizabeth II in May 2007.
A Baltimore native, Kirsten graduated with honors from University of Maryland, College Park in 2007 with a B.A. in government and politics. She spent an extended period of time in Prague, studying European history and politics. In her spare time, Kirsten enjoys traveling, community service, and live music.
