Nina Ozlu TunceliFor 15 years, Nina has been Americans for the Arts’ chief policy strategist, overseeing all of its federal, state, and local government and public affairs work; grassroots advocacy campaigns; policy development; and national coalition-building efforts with both cultural and civic organizations to advance the arts in America. Nina produces several programmatic events annually, including National Arts Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill; the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; and the National Public Leadership in the Arts Awards, which are presented in partnership with the United States Conference of Mayors.

Nina manages the highly successful Art. Ask for More. PSA campaign with the Ad Council. The campaign has generated more than $120 million in donated media and is designed to increase the public’s involvement in championing arts education both in school and after school. The full-page newspaper ads regularly appear in the New York Times and were awarded the top Gold Medal prize by the National Association of Newspapers in 2004.

Nina currently oversees Americans for the Arts’ newest initiative, the Arts Action Fund, a 501(c)(4) organization created to mobilize individual citizens in political advocacy for the arts. She is an attorney and a member of the Virginia State Bar, having earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law and her B.A. from George Washington University.
