Sheila Bergman
Sheila Bergman is a Los Angeles resident and native Californian with extensive organizational and program development, fundraising, and marketing experience. Prior to serving as executive director of P.S. Arts, Bergman was the director of development and the capital campaign at the San Francisco Zoological Society. She also served as the director of artistic and educational programming at Zeum, an art and technology museum for youth located in downtown San Francisco. Prior to her seven-year tenure at Zeum, she was director for a number of nonprofit institutions in New York City and Boston, including The Education Project (TEP), the Anthology Film Archives, and the M. Harriet McCormack Center for the Arts. Her work has been featured nationally in such media outlets as the New York Times, CNN, and NBC's Today Show.
Bergman's civic and community service includes numerous leadership roles, including serving as a reviewer for public and private funding agencies in the arts. Bergman earned her M.A. in interdisciplinary arts education and nonprofit management from San Francisco State University and B.A. from Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles. She received a Certificate from Stanford's School of Business' Executive Program in Nonprofit Leadership—Arts and is currently working on her doctorate in organizational development and systems at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, focusing on the building of arts-centered learning communities.
